Wayland J. Kramer - Background
Since my first flight lesson in September of 1994 I have pursued passionately
a career as a professional pilot. Upon obtaining my Private Pilots Licence in
Frederick, Maryland
I continued my education in Daytona
Beach, Florida attending Emby-Riddle
Aeronautical University. Between the years 1997 and 2001 I completed
a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Science with a Minor in Air Traffic
Control, alongside adding Commercial and Certified Flight Instructor licenses
and associated ratings to my airmen qualifications.
Acquiring a flight instruction job shortly after graduation in Gaithersburg,
Maryland I quickly gained valuable experience not only improving
my flying skills but also working with many different people and a verity of
diverse personality types. After a successful start as a flight instructor and
commercial pilot I was given the opportunity to be involved in our companies
FAR Part 135 air charter division. Accepting the challenge I became Airline
Transport Pilot certified and dual qualified in both a BE58
Beechcraft Baron and PA31-325
Piper Navajo. Adapting to the Northeast's awesome and sometimes
unforgiving weather systems, busy terminal environments and specific flight
procedures I continued to gain experience towards my goal of becoming an airline
pilot.
In 2004 the commercial aviation industry began to turn around following the
unfortunate post September 11th slowdown. I interviewed with many airlines accepting
a First Officer position with a US
Airways Express carrier. I currently hold an Airline Transport,
Pilot In Command qualification and type rating in the SAAB
340/B aircraft based in Norfolk-Virgina
Beach, Virginia.
