THE CULT OF THE BIG BANG - Was There A Bang?
This book (published in 1995) intended for those not well versed in cosmological theory, first presents introductory background material, that includes introductory material on Relativity, Particle Physics and Quantum Theory. Following that, easily understood description of Big Bang Theory is presented. However, the primarily goal of this book is to present the terrible flaws of Big Bang Theory; those that conflict with astronomical data, science in general, logic, and common sense.

BYE BYE BIG BANG - HELLO REALITY
From the front cover of this book (published in 2002):
Gain an understanding of Big Bang Theory in a few short chapters.
Learn about its many flaws—why you shouldn’t believe a word of it.
Then learn the true story of cosmology based on facts and logic.

LONG PAPERS Some of Mitchell’s longer technical papers are presented. To read about hem, click on "Go To Long Papers" at the bottom of this home page.

SOME NOTES ON BIG BANG FRAUD
Abstract. The great majority of cosmologists, astronomers, and other scientists, and those who read, see, or listen to the media regarding astronomy or cosmology, have accepted that the curved space of the universe is expanding, that its size and age, and the departing velocity and distance to remote bodies in space, are based on valid science, data and logic. But those ideas are actually the contrived results of the erroneous concepts of Big Bang theorists.

BIG BANG THEORY UNDER FIRE
Abstract: The very old big bang problems (of the singularity, smoothness, horizon, and flatness) and the failed solutions of inflation theory; newer BB problems relating to missing mass (as required for a flat inflationary universe), the age of the universe, radiation from the “decoupling” (“smearing” of black body spectrum), a contrived BB chronology, the abundances of light elements, and red shift anomalies; and problems, newer yet, regarding inconsistencies of red shift interpretation, curved space, inflation theory, the decelerating expansion of a BB universe, and some additional logical inconsistencies of BB theory are presented.

A NEW COSMOLOGICAL ALERNATIVE: REALITY
Abstract: Our sun, and hundreds of billions of stars in all other galaxies, each lose many millions of tons of mass every second in the form of radiation and solar wind. Much of that matter spews into space, and radiation flees at c. Thus galaxies gradually die. That matter and energy, combined with newly generated matter and hydrogen that is abundant in space, accumulate to produce clouds in which new galaxies are born. During that process, taking hundreds of billions of years, galaxies ever exist in various sizes, shapes and ages. Ejected matter surrounds galaxies in approximate inverse square distribution to provide the “dark matter” that flattens their rotation curves. Radiation across the spectrum is produced in the galaxy-forming processes in space, some of which is thermalized by that matter, resulting in the observed microwave radiation. Hydrogen, or its components, throughout space result in the “tired light” redshift of radiation. That, and gravitational redshift, result in the observed redshifts of distant bodies. Neither relativity, or quantum theory as presently understood, are involved in this universe.

SHORT PAPERS Some of Mitchell’s shorter technical papers are presented. To read them, click on "Go To Short Papers" at the bottom of this home page.

EARLY ASTRONOMY
There have been centuries of obstruction of progress in astronomy and cosmology. In the past that was due to overwhelming influence of the “religious establishment”. In more recent times it has been due to overwhelming influence of the “scientific establishment”.

SOLAR SYSTEMS FROM SUPERNOVAS
(This is the shortest of these short papers; just one pages long.)
The establishment (that is, mainsteam astronomers, astrophysicists and cosmologists) have accepted the premise that stellar systems develop from the remains of supernovas. It would seem that once star-birth from supernovas had been suggested, that idea has been accepted without critical examination. However, careful examination of the facts now shows that the formation of stellar systems from supernova explosions, ether within the space of a solar system, or within the space of a galaxy, is impossible.

THE CULT (This paper is a portion of Chapter 15 from my book,THE CULT OF THE BIG BANG)
From a reviewer of The Cult of the Big Bang regarding that chapter:
Mitchell includes a humorous chapter on the priests of cosmology (the establishment), where the messiah is Einstein, the head priest is Stephen Hawking, and he lists university (churches) where the interlocking careers of Big Bang Theory “bishops” assure that all is well, and BBT is the correct “Genesis” of creation. Any scientist who dares to challenge BBT dogma will be excommunicated.

SPEED AND DOPPLER
Science, logic and common sense show that the speed of light to be analogous to that of the speed of sound. It therefore becomes apparent that the speed of light relative to fixed space is not fixed at c in accordance with accepted theory. Instead, the speed of light relative to a fixed point in space is c plus or minus the speed of its source, and the speed of light that is received is that speed plus or minus the speed of the receiver.

THE HOODWINKING OF ASTRONOMY, COSMOLOGY AND ALL OF SCIENCE © 2002 Wm. C. Mitchell
Abstract: stronomers, cosmologists, and other scientists, both professional and amateur, and all who read, see or hear the media regarding subjects related to cosmology, are ever being hoodwinked by the cosmological “establishment”. Thus it has become accepted by almost all that the space of the universe is expanding and that its size and age, and the distance to remote bodies in space, are based on firm data and logic. But they are actually the contrived results of the erroneous assumptions of Big Bang theorists.

HEAT DEATH OF THE UNIVERSE
This material is excerpted from Chapter 28 of BYE BYE BIG BANG - Hello Reality.
It suggests that the commonly held belief in the heat death of the universe is erroneous, thus providing support for the reuse of “dissipated“ radiant energy in the perpetuation of an ever-recycling universe.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
William C.Mitchell was born in Connecticut, on December 28, 1925, attended elementary and high schools also in that state.
As a teenager, he spent over 3 years In U. S. Navy as a radar technician. After receiving additional instruction at the Naval Research Labs on top secret radar countermeasures equipment (the birth of what is now called electronic warfare) and taught that subject a for year at the Pacific Fleet Schools in Hawaii.
He graduated from the University of Connecticut, with a B. S. in Engineering in 1950, elected to honorary engineering societies Eta Kappa Nu and Tau Beta Pi. (By age 24 he had graduated from high school, spent over 3 years in the Navy, graduated from college, was married, had an engineering position, and a son.)
He worked as a radar design engineer at Bendix Radio Corporation in Towson, Maryland and at Gilfillan Brothers and Litton Industries in the Los Angeles area for about 10 years. Later was Chief Engineer of a small company specializing in digitally controlled industrial processing, that is, computerization of processes such as automatic gasoline blending at refineries as early as 1960.
The last 19 years of his full-time employment as Sub-Project Engineer, and later as Project Engineer at TRW Systems in Redondo Beach, California was primarily on NASA scientific spacecraft programs. But he also worked (in 1975) on such projects as the establishment of technical requirements for a new Pacific Fleet Commander In Chief headquarters (CINCPAC) in Hawaii, and (in 1979 to 1981) on the installation of the NASA Data Tracking and Relay Satellite System (TDRSS) ground station at White Sands, New Mexico.
Following retirement from TRW (in 1981), he worked as a consultant engineer on several spacecraft programs, but also on such projects as the computerization of FBI Identification Division data information storage and retrieval in Washington, DC.
Although never fulfilling requirements for an advanced degree, Mitchell completed a number of graduate courses in mathematics, science and engineering during his years of employment.
He has in the past been an airplane pilot, with commercial license, instrument rating, and aerobatics training; and a Cessna aircraft owner. Other interests have included, music, swimming, boating, fishing and skiing. Of special interest has been family; including Holly, his wife of 53 years, son, daughter, and grandchildren.
He became heavily involved in cosmology in the mid-1980s and, after considerable study, became disenchanted with Big Bang Theory. Since then he has worked full-time on cosmology, and wrote a number of papers on that topic. In the mid-1990s, he wrote The Cult of the Big Bang, and, for the past 3 years, has devoted his efforts to the preparation of this book, Bye Bye Big Bang - Hello Reality.
