you will need 56 beads, size 10 cotton thread and size 7 steel hook
base round: with wrong side of sock facing- join w/ sl st in center back, ch 1 sc in same space. loosely do 41 sc evenly around, join w/ sl st in first sc. 42 sc
LOWER RUFFLE:
RND 1: ch 3, dc in same st, skip next sc, * 2 dc in next sc, skip next sc, repeat from * around, join w/ sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-3.
RND 2: ch 3, dc in same st, dc in next st, * 2 dc in next st, dc in next st, repeat from * around, join w/ sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-3.
RND 3: ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in each st around, join w/ sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-3.
RND 4: ch 3, dc in each st around.
RND 5: TURN WORK, ch 1 sc in same st, *hdc in next st, dc in next st, (ch1 draw up bead, ch 1), skip next 3 st, dc in next st, hdc in next st, sc in next 2 st, repeat from * around ending with sl st in first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.
UPPER RUFFLE:
working in unused sc’s of base round, with wrong side of sock facing you (with RND 1 of LOWER RUFFLE closest to you and RND 5 farthest away from you) join wi sl st at center back.
RND1: ch 3, 2 dc in same st, 3 dc in each unused sc around, join w/ sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-3.
RND 2: ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in each st around, join w/ sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-3.
RND 3: ch 3, dc in each st around, join w/ sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-3.
RND 4: TURN WORK. ch 3, hdc in next st, sc in next st, (ch1, draw up bead, ch 1), skip next 3 st, sc in next st, hdc in next st, dc in next st, * dc in next st, hdc in next st, sc in next st, (ch1, draw up bead, ch 1) sc in next st, hdc in next st, dc in next st, repeat from * around. join w/ sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-3.
