you will need: 126 beads (for socks)
size 10 (bedspread weight) crochet thread
# 7 ss crochet hook
hook small enough to fit through hole in bead
pair of girls socks w/cuffs
thread 63 beads onto thread
RND 1: join w/sl st at center back of sock, sc in same sp. 41 sc evenly spaced around, join w/sl st to first sc. 42 sc.
RND 2: (uses 21 of the 63 beads) ch 3, 2 dc in same st, 3 dc in next st, ch 4, slide up bead (remove hook from work, using smaller hook: insert hook through hole in bead and pull ch4 through bead, insert #7 hook back into work), * 3 dc in next st, 3 dc in next st, ch 4, slide up bead (remove hook from work, using smaller hook: insert hook through hole in bead and pull ch4 through bead, insert #7 hook back into work), repeat from * around. after pulling last ch 4 through 21st bead, join w/sl st in third ch of beg ch-3.
RND 3: ch 1, sc in same st, *sc in next dc, repeat from * around. join w/ sl st to first sc.
RND 4: ch 1, sc in same st, * ch 3, skip next 2 st, sc in next st, repeat from * around until last 2 st’s,: ch 1, join with dc in beg sc.
RND 5 & 6: ch 1, sc in same st, * ch1, sc in same sp, ch 3, sc in next ch-3 sp, repeat from * around ending round with ch 1 and joining w/dc in beg sc.
RND 7: ch 1, sc in same st, * ch 4, slide up bead (remove hook from work, using smaller hook: insert hook through hole in bead and pull ch4 through bead, insert #7 hook back into work), sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 4, slide up bead (remove hook from work, using smaller hook: insert hook through hole in bead and pull ch4 through bead, insert # 7 hook back into work), repeat from * around, join w/ sl st in beg sc. end off and weave in ends.
SCRUNCHIE: (with purple beads)
This one only has one row of beads instead of two like the socks.
String beads (the amount will depend on how many sc's you put around the pony tail elastic, I always string way more than I think I will need).
Using sc- completely cover elastic (pushing stitches together as you go along).
ROW 1: ch 3, dc in each stitch around. join with sl st to ch 3.
ROW2: ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in each dc around. join with sl st to ch 3
ROW 3: ch 1, sc in same st, * ch 3, skip next 2 st, sc in next st, repeat
from * around until last 2 st’s,: ch 1, join with dc in beg sc.
ROW 4: ch 1, sc in same st, * ch1, sc in same sp, ch 3, sc in next
ch-3 sp, repeat from * around ending round with ch 1 and joining w/dc in
beg sc.
ROW 5: ch 1, sc in same st, * ch 4, slide up bead (remove hook from
work, using smaller hook: insert hook through hole in bead and pull ch4
through bead, insert #7 hook back into work), sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 4,
slide up bead (remove hook from work, using smaller hook: insert hook
through hole in bead and pull ch4 through bead, insert # 7 hook back into
work), repeat from * around, join w/ sl st in beg sc. end off and weave in
ends.
