This is the easiest thing to make. And you can make it any size that you prefer, because there is no stitch pattern you can add to or subtract from the beginning chain to make it the size that you like.
MATERIALS:
size 9 (5.5 mm) afghan hook
100% cotton yarn
Chain as many as you wish until it is as wide as you want your dishcloth.
ROW 1: insert hook in the back of 2nd ch from hook, work afghan stitch across (using the back of begining chains, this makes it easier to work the edge stitches when you are finished).
ALL REMAINING ROWS: continue working afghan stitch until your piece is square. (the number of rows will depend on how many chains you started with).
AFTER LAST ROW: ch 1, sc across. Do Not Cut Yarn.
EDGE: NOTE: I use a hook size 4.5 mm to do the rsc on edge, it keeps the edge from stretching out of shape.
work 1 rsc (reverse single crochet) in first corner and in each stitch around. End off and weave yarn through to secure.
