Welcome
This web site is about me.
You will find information about my hobbies, interests, family and among all....... information about my calling to help.
I do my very best to help;
by offering assistance, counseling in faith; as well as
personal issues to those men and women living with HIV / AIDS.
My name is Linda. I live in Edmond, Oklahoma.
I was born and raised in Texas. Married and raised two boys.
After 24 years the marriage ended. A few years later I moved to Louisville, Kentucky.
While living in Louisville I became a member of Metropolitan Community Church. Even though I had been a confirmed Episcopalian for almost my entire life, it was through MCC that I truly began to understand God and His teachings. It was through this better understanding that I finally learned why I was here.
Though it was probably the path I was meant to be on many years earlier, I did not recognize Gods call to service until after joining MCC.
After loosing a very dear friend to AIDS, I acknowledged Gods call to the AIDS Ministry.
I soon began visiting HIV / AIDS patients in hospitals and nursing homes. Sitting with them, talking with them and just being a friend; helping them in whatever ways I could.
This closer contact with the disease made me want to learn more about it. I was then able to relate better with those living with HIV / AIDS.
I did volunteer work in the Louisville area with several organizations that dealt
not only with HIV / AIDS but other life-threatening illnesses as well.
I also worked closely with the Homeless Ministry
of Jeff Street Baptist on Liberty Church.
In May of 2000, I left Louisville to move closer to my children.
With one son in Guthrie, Oklahoma and the other in Republic, Missouri it was hard to get the family together. Now I am within easy driving distance of both.
This move also put me closer to my only brother, who lives in the Dallas area.
In the same time frame as my move, Cathedral of Hope - Dallas was planting the seed for Cathedral of Hope - Oklahoma City.
I involved myself with CoH - OKC in June as a member of the choir and became a charter member in October 2000 at the first confirmation of new members.
My HIV / AIDS ministry is continuing in Oklahoma as a member of RAIN.
