Judd Nelson is an ambitious and unorthodox young lawyer out to make a name for himself by defending a brilliant professor (John Hurt), who just might really be guilty of murder. David Alan Grier, Elizabeth Perkins, Darren McGavin, and Ray Walston costar in a screenplay co-written by David E. Kelley. Bob Clark directed and a few actors from “Porky’s” have small appearances, but Clark doesn’t balance the legal points well with the comedic overtones that at times seem totally out of place in the film. John Hurt delivers a chilling supporting role.

Anchor Bay delivers “From The Hip” in a good looking, but somewhat soft anamorphic widescreen (2.35:1) aspect ratio with English Two-Channel Monaural Sound and English Closed Captions.

A (2.35:1) theatrical trailer is the only extra feature included on the DVD. The menus are standard interactive still frames that are easy to navigate. “From The Hip” is available now from Anchor Bay Entertainment.
