Poems with very special meaning in our lives

I DO TALK TO YOU

I know you can't hear me... but I do talk to you.
And I hear everything you say to me, too.
I hear when you laugh when I do something funny
I hear you yell "Hooray" when I try so hard
I hear you tell others how you'd never trade me for the world
Even with all the trials I came with.
I hear you thank God for what a blessing you have been given.
I hear you encourage me when I can almost do it
I hear you cry, too, when it gets a little harder
And when you ask God "Why?!" your baby
And I know you know I understand somehow.
And you know I listen when you talk to me too
But, I want you to know, mom ... I do talk to you.

THE PUZZLE

My life is like a puzzle put together piece by piece.
By the people I know and the people I meet.
Each day you work with me a piece finds its place.
Such a perfect fit never forced in its space.
There is always a pretty picture when puzzle pieces come together.
All pieces are important to the whole,
Each supporting and needing one another to grow.
Thanks to you some day my puzzle will be complete.
Because you took the time to find just the right place.

TODAY I HAVE A BABY GIRL

Today I have a baby girl - A joy I cannot describe
They started to take her away from me
And the doctor came to my side
he said, "Something is very wrong. Your daughter is not quite right"
But I told them to bring her to me
And when she was in my sight
My heart was racing; I smiled real big and opened my arms wide
And when the nurse gave her to me, I cradled her by my side
I said, " My daughter is perfect, just look at her eyes
see how brightly they shine
Just tell me what I need to do and my daughter will be just fine
She may never be able to walk or talk, or even write her name
But walking or talking or writing may not be her call to fame
My daughter has another path her soul has chosen to follow
And in self pity and sorrow we will not wallow
I will walk beside her with pride and love every day and night
The Lord beside us giving us strength; yes we will be all right
I understand my daughter has challenges that as she grows she must face
But grow she will with love and support at her very own pace
To the doctors and nurses around me, put your fears aside
And help me raise this daughter of mine with love, support and pride".
Today I have a baby girl
A joy I cannot describe.
