SAVE DANNY PHANTOM!
Alright gang, here it is: The Second Official "Save Danny Phantom" CALL TO ACTION!
Starting today, February 15, 2006, and for the remainder of the Campaign,
we need to include focus on another (and potentially THE most) critical piece of the Danny puzzle:

THE RETAILERS!

Ever wonder why we have so little "Danny" merchandise?  Well, so do I.  Spongebob and Dora have entire sections of stores devoted to them, yet I can count all the Danny items currently available on two hands. And it's been two years already!

LET'S SHOW THE RETAILERS THAT THERE IS A HUGE UNTAPPED MARKET FOR MORE DANNY STUFF!

I for one have already purchased at least two of everything "Danny" I could find, and would love to buy more.  Danny would lend itself beautifully to action figures, play vehicles and Fenton gadgets, games, activewear for kids and adults (like a copy of that neato T-shirt he wore in "Micro-Management" for instance), plushies, different toys for all age groups, party favors -- the list goes on and on.

Plus, if we can show the retailers that there is a market for Danny items, this will affect Nickelodeon in the most important way possible: in their wallets!!  Let's face it, money rules the world, and Nick has to stay in business just like any other corporation.  If we can get the stores to license Danny stuff and start including such merchandise on their shelves, everyone wins: the fans, the stores, and Nick.

Okay, then, here's what you can do.  The two main retailers of Nickelodeon products are Wal-Mart and Target. The latest Nick magazine even had a huge pull-out section advertising their Wal-Mart selection of Nick stuff!  Here are the addresses and emails of these companies where you can write them to ask for more Danny products. In each case, tell them (politely of course) that you would like to be able to purchase a wider variety of Nickelodeon's "Danny Phantom" merchandise than they currently have available. Let's keep fighting (by WRITING!), troops. Together, I just know we can make a difference!

WALMART
Douglas J. Degn is Executive Vice-President of Food, Consumables and Hardlines Merchandising for Wal-Mart stores in the United States. This includes several other key merchandise categories such as toys, electronics, sporting goods, and entertainment products.

Bentonville, AR 72716

TARGET
Bart Butzer is Executive Vice-President of Target Corporation
Write to:
Mr. Bart Butzer

NICKELODEON'S ONLINE STORE
And finally: Nick's online shop - only two "Danny" items?  BAH!  Send them an email by filling out this form, asking for MORE DANNY STUFF.  Choose "product questions" and then, in the text box, nicely tell them you would like to see more Danny Phantom merchandise!
Email Nick's Online Shop at:
As most of you probably know by now, as of today, January 24, 2006 (forever to be known now as "Black Tuesday"), executives at Nickelodeon Studios have decided to cancel Danny Phantom after its third season.  Butch Hartman, creator and producer of the series has made an official announcement about this on his forum HERE.  Episode #53, set to premiere in February 2007, will now be the last episode and (sadly) the series finale.  UNLESS.

Danny is still a hugely popular animated series on Nickelodeon, and for it to be canceled now is confusing to say the least.  We are therefore starting a letter-writing campaign to Nickelodeon Studios, to let the executives know how much we love Danny! Paper letters always have more impact than email, but every little bit helps.  Here is the contact info you can use to let Nick know just how much we love Butch's shows.

Address paper letters to:
 Marjorie Cohn
Nickelodeon
1515 Broadway
New York, New York, 10036
Attention: Programming.

As we all know, Danny has been one of the most remarkable animated series to come along in a very long time, and Nick should know that their fans feel that way. Let's get started on those letters and emails to help make sure that Nickelodeon knows just how much we love Danny and how much we want him to stay on the air for more than just three short seasons!  If you want to go straight to the top, you can also address letters to Ms. Cyma Zarghami, President of Nickelodeon.

There is also a petition started in an effort to show support for keeping Danny on the air. Check it out here: SAVE DANNY PETITION.  Note that this petition is not sponsored by me, nor by any officials of either forum, so if you have questions about it, you will need to contact the actual petition author (there is a link on the site.)

For email, the only address I can find is this one for Nick.com's talk-back page: http://www.nick.com/blab/write_nick/mail.jhtml .  No idea if writing to this will help or not, but if you can't send a paper letter, at least this is something, maybe.

For those who REALLY want to go straight to the top here, you can try contacting Chairman and CEO of Viacom, Sumner Redstone:  sumner.redstone@viacom.com  Viacom is, of course, the parent company that owns Nickelodeon (plus MTV and a host of other networks.)  You can tell Mr. Sumner how much we love Danny Phantom on Nickelodeon, and that Nick just won't be the same without this show.  Remember to be nice, be polite, be grateful for their hosting the show for us, and tell them how much you would hate to see it pulled. Together, we CAN make a difference, I just know it.
